Having then caught the DJ bug Kista invested in a set of decks and spent the next couple of years honing her skills, amusing her neighbours at all hours, and entertaining her friends, at house parties and gatherings all over town. Through word of mouth and her unique style, her next big break came in 2000 when she was asked to become a weekly resident at iconic lesbian bar, ‘The Glasshouse Hotel’. This led to regular gigs with ‘Girlbar’ @ the Prince of Wales Hotel and another successful woman’s night, ‘Tease’@ Sublime. With her enthusiasm behind the decks Kista cut her groove in the Melbourne club scene and went on to play regular club nights at Girlbar, The Market Hotel, Candybar, Onesixone, Ouork Mutant Disco, Blonde on the Rocks, Pinkalicious, Libation, The Glasshouse and dance parties including Rawhide, Mecca, Nurse Betty and Rogue Nation. Kista’s passion for music takes up most of her free time and her flavours are as diverse as the crowds she has played for. She has a natural leaning for fun filled - energy giving – uplifting vocal house, but also knows when its time to shift gears for some “get down - booty shaking - cha cha”!!
